VHS Archive Prototype
A downloadable Prototype for Windows
About this project This project was intended to be my first 3D game. Initially, I thought the development process would be straightforward, but as I went deeper, it became increasingly challenging to maintain momentum. I’ve decided to release this as an Open Concept / Prototype so that the work I put into it doesn't go to waste.
The Concept The game was supposed to be about an employee working at a VHS archive. The core mechanics were simple: explore the room, find scattered VHS tapes, and play them on a television. The tapes would feature analog horror-inspired content—videos similar to the Mandela Catalogue, FNAF lore, and other eerie clips.
Current State & Technical Note Please note that this is an unfinished prototype. The player movement mechanics are currently unpolished, and the project has some technical inconsistencies. I attempted to fix these issues with AI assistance, but it only led to more complications, so I’ve decided to stop here and share the source instead.
The project includes a basic location and some functional shaders.
License & Credits If you are interested in continuing this project or want to use any parts of it for your own work, feel free to do so!.
Good luck to anyone who decides to take this further!
